Durability

Durability

From the foundation on up, every Horizon Home is painstakingly designed and constructed to serve your family for decades to come.

Foundations that stay put.
To counteract the active soil expansion and contraction that is par for the course in North Texas, your Horizon home is constructed on a post-tensioned slab foundation. Internal cables are stressed to 30,000 PSI so that your foundation is in a constant state of compression, much like a rigid raft floating on top of the soil.

Water is the enemy.
All of our homes include full guttering and surface water drains to channel water away from your foundation to prevent cracking and potential slab failure. Each Horizon home also includes a generous landscaping package and fully sodded lawn to combat erosion–and enhance the look of your home.

Ceilings without sag.
Unlike many other builders, Horizon uses ceiling-rated sheetrock, not wallboard, for ceilings. Our sheetrock has a higher density than wallboard so your ceiling will not sag over time.

Stay connected in the digital age.
Wired with two RG6 data lines and two Cat 5e telephone lines per tech drop, your Horizon home is ready for the digital age. While other homes can be functionally obsolete from the day they are purchased, a Horizon home allows you to continually upgrade your communications system with minimal expense and without tearing apart walls.

Drawers that actually open. Imagine.
Our cabinets are the best-constructed in the industry. Each operable drawer features dove-tailed joints so it will be operable and beautiful for years to come. And while many of our competitors build bathroom vanities with false fronts, ours actually open and close. A much better solution than storing your toothpaste with your bleach under the sink.
